When making a choice of a type of guitar strap, consider the following:
1- Comfort (heavier guitars, such as a Gibson Les Paul, are more comfortable with a wider strap)
2- Nylon straps tend to breathe more and do not feel as "hot" while playing for extended time periods
3- Leather is the most durable and will by default add the respect that a great guitar deserves.
4- For a few bucks more you can add the safety of a strap lock (such as shown below by Fender) and avoid having your strap come
loose and result in damage to your guitar.
